Costco turns in the second-best response times, Compuware says.

Apple Inc.’s e-commerce site posted the best Internet Explorer and Firefox response times in August, says Compuware.
Apple.com produced the best Internet Explorer access time among 22 large web retailers tested in August, according to Compuware. Last month, the e-retailer posted an average Internet Explorer load time of 0.54 seconds. Apple.com also led Firefox response time testing with an average of 0.46 seconds.
Costco.com finished in second place in Internet Explorer tests at 0.70 seconds, followed by Amway.com (1.01 seconds), Walmart.com (1.57) and HPShopping.com (1.60).
Costo.com also finished second in last month’s Firefox response time tests with an average of 0.47 seconds. Amway.com (0.84) came in third, followed by Dell.com (1.03) and LLBean.com (1.21).
The average large retailer’s high broadband response time for a shopper using Internet Explorer in August was 2.61 seconds, the Compuware study shows. The average Firefox response time among the same group of 22 retailers was 1.96 seconds.
Response time is the average time it takes to fully download a web site’s content.
