Insite Software, a B2B e-commerce platform provider with more than 950 clients, has hired David Ricketts, who takes over as senior vice president of sales.

Ricketts most recently served as vice president of sales, North America for hybris, a U.S. e-commerce technology vendor. He worked there from April 2011 to January 2013, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Hybris, which was recently bought by business software company SAP AG, has three clients (adidas, Costco and W.W. Grainger) ranked in Internet Retailer’s 2013 Top 500 Guide and is ranked eighth among vendors of e-commerce platforms in Internet Retailer’s Leading Vendors to the Top 1000 E-Retailers guide. Before working at hybris, Ricketts was an executive at e-commerce technology provider ATG (now part of Oracle Corp.) and order management technology company Sterling Commerce Inc. (which was acquired by IBM).

“We continue to invest in new technology and key personnel to strengthen the Insite Software value proposition, Insite CEO Steve Shaffer says. “His deep understanding of the B2B e-commerce space and proven track record of developing and leading highly motivated sales teams is a tremendous asset to Insite Software and our customers.”

Insite says it has added more than 170 customers over the last two years.
