Pablo Munoz helped boost Latin American sales for Tupperware.
Avon Products Inc. has hired Pablo Munoz as senior vice president and president, North America. The job includes e-commerce responsibilities, says a spokesman for the seller of beauty products, which is No. 42 in the new Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
Munoz comes from Tupperware Brands Corp., where he was most recently group president for the Americas, Avon says. The kitchen storage and home products company hired him in 1993, according to his new employer. During his time there, he helped Tupperware increase sales in Latin America, Avon says.
He previously worked at Sara Lee Corp., where as executive director of business development he helped the food and beverage company expand into Latin America, Avon says.
Munoz will oversee Avon’s U.S., Canadian and Caribbean operations. The Avon spokesman says Munoz will work closely with Avon’s marketing chief on the e-retailer’s global e-commerce program. Munoz reports to Avon CEO Sheri McCoy and also joins the company’s executive board.
“Pablo is an innovative thinker and a big-picture strategist with strong operating skills and a proven track record of driving growth,” McCoy says. “Pablo is stepping into this role at an important time in our company's history and Avon will be well-served by his deep experience in both consumer products and direct sales."
Avon was No. 37 in the previous edition of the Top 500 Guide. According to this year’s research, the average ticket for a shopper at Avon.com—which launched in 2000—stood at $85. The retailer also collects sales taxes in 45 states.
