TV and web retailer HSN Inc. made two executive promotions this week.
Bill Brand becomes chief marketing and business development officer, giving him oversight of the retailer’s overall marketing standards and direction. Andy Sheldon is the new chief creative officer for HSN and general manager of HSN Productions, a job that will have him managing the retailer’s live productions, along with HSN’s live music and entertainment business.
"Bill and Andy have the vision and expertise to help us continue to redefine the shopping experience and drive growth across all our businesses," says HSN CEO and director Mindy Grossman. “Both Bill and Andy have been an integral part of the transformation of HSN over the past six years and we will now leverage their talent and expertise across our portfolio.”

Brand previously worked as HSN’s executive vice president of programming, marketing and business development, a job he started in March 2009, according to his LinkedIn profile. He joined HSN in 2006 as its senior vice president, programming. He had held a variety of media-related jobs, including as a TV news director and a vice president for MTV Networks.
Sheldon was HSN’s executive vice president television and executive creative director, according to his LinkedIn profile. He’s worked at HSN for about seven years. His previous job was head of broadcasting for iBuy TV, a U.K.-based home shopping network.
At the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition 2013 in Chicago this June, Grossman, the HSN CEO, will give a keynote speech on June 6 entitled "How Boundaryless Retail Drives 21st Century Success.” That speech reflects the conference’s theme of “Breaking Barriers Toward a New Retail Economy.”
