Web sales grow 90% for LuLuLemon in Q2

E-commerce sales are up 128% so far in 2012

The second quarter was another good one online and otherwise for athletic apparel maker and retailer LuLuLemon Athletica Inc.

For the second quarter ended July 29, LuLuLemon, No. 162 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 reports:

The web accounted for 12.5% of total sales compared with 8.8% in the second quarter of 2011.

The company predicts strong growth for its e-commerce channel, chief financial officer John Currie told analysts on the company’s second quarter earnings call. “Going forward, the fourth quarter will be the strongest in terms of e-commerce penetration,” Currie told analysts. “We're still looking at e-commerce rising from last year when it was about 11% of total sales. We expect it to be between 14% and 15% of overall revenue this year.”

For the first two quarters:

The web accounted for 13.0% of total sales compared with 8.1% in the first two quarters of 2011.
