Slingshot SEO hires a CEO and chief operating officer

Slingshot SEO, which helps brands boost their search rankings, has a new CEO and chief operating officer.

Jay Love, the new CEO, helped to found eTapestry, which sells software for fundraising; the company launched in 1997 and was sold in 2007. Most recently, he was CEO of software developer Social Solutions.

“The passion, energy and already industry-leading thought leadership is what attracted me to the role with Slingshot SEO,” Love says. “The company is expanding rapidly, making hires and landing new enterprise clients daily. The opportunity to be part of that, and help shape the company’s next chapter, was too enticing to turn down.”

Don Kane, the new chief operating officer, was chief product manager for vCloud at BlueLock, which sells remote web hosting services.  He also worked at Software Artistry/Tivoli Systems, Eli Lilly & Co., a drug company, and EDS, an information technology firm.

“Adding Don to our team adds a depth of experience in a variety of key areas, including business analysis, market analysis, product marketing and product management,” says Kevin Bailey, president and co-founder of Slingshot SEO. “We feel our executive team is now in place to lead Slingshot SEO to the next level of growth and performance.”

Slingshot, founded in 2006, employs 90 and serves 150 clients, the company says.
