Partnership with UPS Provides Advanced Package Delivery Capabilities

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., and ATLANTA, June 12, 2009 – GSI Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq: GSIC), the leading provider of e-commerce and multichannel solutions, today announced the launch of ShipQuikSM, a comprehensive, proprietary package-delivery program for its clients. GSI joined with UPS (NYSE: UPS) to create the customized program to significantly improve the consumer experience.

Under the ShipQuik program, GSI presorts and loads packages itself at its fulfillment centers, further optimizing UPS’s reliable ground service for its clients.

“We studied the industry for trends and best practices in package delivery and developed a shipping solution that dramatically improves the online consumer experience,” said Michael G. Rubin, chairman, president and CEO of GSI. “We project that almost 20 million packages will move through our systems this year in the continental U.S. The new premium program will deliver these packages within an average of 2.6 days.”

As part of the ShipQuik program, GSI selected UPS as its strategic partner for its advanced ground package delivery network and unique infrastructure. The UPS solution complements GSI’s scale and network of fulfillment centers, which totals more than two million square feet.

“GSI is a major, respected provider of fulfillment and support services to e-commerce retailers and UPS is excited about supporting GSI and its clients in delivering superior customer service,” said Alan Gershenhorn, UPS’s senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. “UPS has the technology and service options to assist GSI in its goal of making the complex simple for its clients.”

GSI made physical improvements within each of its facilities and implemented new software for UPS service and zip code sorting, conveyor sortation and routing, and dock manifest scheduling. The company also enhanced its warehouse management and freight management systems in support of the new solution. More than 88 percent of the total client volume currently processed within GSI’s fulfillment centers moves through the ShipQuik program.

“GSI’s goals are tightly aligned with our clients’ goals; delight consumers at every phase of their online shopping experience-from clicking on a Web store page through delivery at their doorstep,” said Rubin. “With our new systems in place and our strategic alliance with UPS, we’ve taken a significant step towards improving the consumer experience. We’re proud to be able to leverage our scale to the benefit of our clients and their consumers to provide one of the best delivery experiences in the industry for online shoppers.”
