ture Mobile Measurement Integrated into WHERE Application and Platform to Provide Greater Insight into Usage and Improved Relevance for Advertising Campaigns
OREM, Utah - April 29, 2008 - Omniture, Inc. (NASDAQ:OMTR), a leading provider of online business optimization software, today announced that uLocate, the leading publisher of mobile location-based services via the WHERE™ application and platform, has selected Omniture’s mobile analytics solutions to gain greater insight into consumer usage of mobile applications.
uLocate will deploy Omniture SiteCatalyst and the new Omniture App Measurement solutions for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices into its popular WHERE™ application and other branded applications built on the award-winning platform. WHERE continues to lead the market in location-based services for mobile devices and is becoming increasingly popular with mobile advertisers. The companies also intend to collaborate on additional functionality to improve depth of analytics on mobile applications including the relevance of location and mobile advertising.
“Understanding user behavior is a critical success factor in delivering a best-in-class mobile application. When you are dealing with millions of users, reporting across all operating and distribution systems becomes increasingly complex,” says Dan Gilmartin, VP of Marketing at uLocate. “We needed a solution to meet our internal product and marketing needs as well as those of our advertisers. Incorporating the Omniture App Measurement solutions into the WHERE application and platform is providing us with data that will further our ability to understand our consumers, their behavior, and how they are using WHERE.”
“Now more than ever, consumers are using mobile devices to enjoy the products and services they need,” said Matt Belkin, SVP of Emerging Business at Omniture. “Smart marketers such as uLocate are meeting this demand with new mobile applications and mobile sites that provide a relevant experience to consumers. The mobile measurement capabilities of the Omniture Online Marketing Suite make the suite an even more compelling enterprise-class solution that empowers marketers to measure and optimize these investments.”
Omniture SiteCatalyst is part of the Omniture Online Marketing Suite™ and provides marketers with actionable, real-time intelligence about online strategies and marketing initiatives. With the new App Measurement solutions for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android, the powerful measurement capabilities of SiteCatalyst can now be applied to the use of specific mobile applications in addition to mobile Internet sites. This mobile data, available in SiteCatalyst, provides Omniture customers a real-time view of their mobile marketing efforts and brand interactions. Companies like uLocate can make more informed mobile marketing decisions, such as which devices to support, what new features to add to mobile applications, and which new geographies may represent compelling opportunities. All of these decisions help marketers deliver a more relevant mobile experience and measure and increase marketing ROI. Mobile application data will also be available to other Omniture and partner applications through the Omniture Online Marketing Suite.
App Measurement for iPhone, App Measurement for BlackBerry and App Measurement for Android are available for Omniture SiteCatalyst customers and can be obtained from within the Administration Console (Code Manager). App Measurement for iPhone was announced in December of 2008 and the latter App Measurement solutions are newly available and further extend the mobile measurement and optimization capabilities of the Omniture Online Marketing Suite to RIM BlackBerry and Google Android applications.
