Two-year-old MTailor has garnered millions in sales for its custom-made shirts, all via its app.
The social network also adds another Apple alumnus, Michael Lopp, as its head of engineering.
Pinterest Inc. is pinning its future on two former Apple Inc. e-commerce executives.
The social network announced today it has hired Bob Baxley, who led the creative team responsible for the Apple Online Store, the Apple Store app and the transactional components of iPhoto and GarageBand. It also hired Michael Lopp, who managed the engineering team responsible for Apple's Online Store, before moving on to Palantir Technologies in 2010. Baxley will work as Pinterest's head of product design and Lopp will be the social network's head of engineering.
Baxley will oversee the product design and research teams that are tasked with creating the social network’s interface and experience. Lopp will lead the social network’s technical team with a focus on product development and scaling the company’s infrastructure.
“As we build a visual discovery engine, we're thrilled to announce the addition of two industry leaders to the growing Pinterest team,” says a Pinterest spokeswoman.
