CommerceHub brings back its founding CEO as its new chief
Frank Poore says the company will expand its merchandising and fulfillment offerings.

CommerceHub, which helps retailers connect with suppliers that drop-ship orders directly to consumers, has brought back its founding CEO, Frank Poore, as chief executive, it announced today. The move comes as the company is developing new services for retailers, it says. Poore succeeds Steve Hamlin, who retired from the top job last December.
CommerceHub provides an Internet portal for retailers to connect with drop-shippers and exchange business documents such as purchase orders and shipment confirmations.
Poore served as president and CEO from the time of the company’s launch in 1997 until it was acquired in 2006 by Liberty Interactive Corp., No. 5 in Internet Retailer’s 2013 Top 500 Guide. He remained after the acquisition as a member of the CommerceHub board.
CommerceHub is ranked first among fulfillment providers in Internet Retailer’s Leading Vendors to the Top 1000 E-Retailers guide, based on the online sales of its retailer clients. Clients include Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Sears Holdings Corp. and Best Buy Co. Inc.
“With Frank’s experience and successful track record, we couldn’t imagine a better leader for CommerceHub’s next phase of growth,” says Liberty Interactive CEO Greg Maffei, referring to CommerceHub as a “jewel” within the Liberty portfolio of companies. Liberty owns several e-commerce businesses, including QVC.com, ProFlowers.com, BuySeasons.com and Backcountry.com.
"I rejoined the company because, despite our success, I felt that the original vision was really just getting started," Poore says.
Helping in the transition is Richard Jones, who co-founded CommerceHub with Poore and was its first chief technology officer. Jones is now leading development of products and services that help retailers find new drop-ship suppliers, select from their available inventory and manage product information to show accurate descriptions and pricing on e-commerce sites.
