The acquisition will add more than 300 products to L’Oreal’s lineup.

Department store chain Belk Inc. is adding 150 employees, primarily in its e-commerce and information technology departments, the retailer announced today.
Belk, which sells online at Belk.com and operates more than 300 apparel, gifts and home furnishing stores in the southern U.S., is investing $600 million over a five-year period to make improvements in e-commerce, information technology, merchandise planning and product sourcing.
“This is the fastest growing part of our company,” says Adam Orvos, executive vice president of human resources. In April, Belk said it was hiring about 100 people for its e-commerce and I.T. departments.
Belk also says it opened a 515,000-square-foot e-commerce fulfillment center in Jonesville, SC, in June, and expects the facility to generate 120 jobs over the next five years.
