U.K. apparel retailer's Marketplace attracts new types of customers
Asos is a U.K.-based apparel retailer that communicates a hip, cool personality through pictures and clever site features, such as product videos that show models wearing fashions on a runway. The approach appeals to its younger, fashion-conscious customer base. The retailer ships its products to consumers in nearly 200 countries, and shipping and return shipping are free. The Asos Marketplace welcomes all consumers to buy and sell new, used or vintage clothing. A dedicated Marketplace team provides daily editorial content and gives sellers advice on how to display their products. “Whether it's just to fund that next purchase or to make a start in business, it's free to list so I would encourage anyone who loves fashion to give it a go," says e-commerce director John Hart.
