The search giant today rolled out new ways for marketers to understand the in-store impact of their ads.
A featured Must Have app on Google Play, Zoomingo makes hunting for deals fun with new “Black Friday is on Us!” Contest
Bellevue, Wash. (Nov. 14, 2012) – Zoomingo, the innovative shopping app that lets shoppers find all the best deals locally, is offering shoppers a unique way to stay on top of Black Friday and other holiday sales this shopping season with a variety of new holiday shopping features that let consumers search and start tracking holiday sales now, right from their smartphone, tablet or home computer.
Included is a searchable catalog of pre-Black Friday sales from all the national retailers – the most up to date data for all pre-Black Friday sales currently available. In addition, as Black Friday sales circulars become available, Zoomingo will have all the latest Black Friday sales data at a local store level. In addition, Zoomingo is running a "Black Friday is on Us!" weekly contest with a $500 gift card every week until Black Friday. Users earn points for rating, watching and sharing items using Zoomingo’s popular Hot or Not game which generates more than a million votes a month. The winner is selected from a raffle conducted from the list of top 50 users with the most points.
To prepare for the holiday season, shoppers can create a “Watch List” of items they are planning to buy. Shoppers can either use their Pinterest account to create their watch list or “watch” any of the highly desired items that Zoomingo has curated in its Watch N’ Save section. As soon as their favorite items go on sale, whether it is on or before Black Friday or throughout the holiday shopping season, Zoomingo will automatically send a notification alerting them of the sale.
“Our analysis of retailer sale data during the holiday season shows that consumers can often get better deals on days other than Black Friday,” said Shirish Nadkarni, co-founder and CEO of Zoomingo. “With Zoomingo’s Price Watch feature, shoppers can “watch” their favorite items and Zoomingo will notify them of any sales including if it is the lowest price seen.”
Today’s announcement comes shortly after the company released a new version that features a virtual Geofence around all major mall locations in the US which lets shoppers find the best deals by mall location - the only shopping app currently on the market to do so. With the new mall Geofencing feature, shoppers receive alerts when they visit the mall where they have a chance to win a $50 daily cash prize as well as immediately view the deals available at the mall along with their shopping list.
A top rated app both in the Apple App Store and on Google Play, Zoomingo is a main featured app on Google Play the week of November 12. In addition, it is currently featured as a Must Have Tablet app on Android tablets and was featured in August on Google Play in the Back to School Collection of Apps. Zoomingo has also been featured on Verizon and Sprint Android devices.
Zoomingo was co-founded by Krishnan Seshadrinathan and Shirish Nadkarni, who also co-founded Livemocha, the world’s largest language learning website with more than 12 million users. Nadkarni also founded mobile email pioneer TeamOn, which was acquired by RIM in 2002. Nadkarni left Livemocha in 2011 and had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with his wife – an avid shopper. The experience of going from one store to another in the mall to find interesting things on sale quickly became tedious. Often, his wife might find an item, but not buy it because she wasn’t sure if there was something similar that was cheaper in another store. As a self-described “typical male shopper,” Nadkarni found the process time-consuming and frustrating, and searched for an app to help. Price comparison apps weren’t always reliable, and retailer mobile apps were geared to making online purchases. Nadkarni knew there had to be a better way – and the idea of Zoomingo was born.
