The search giant today rolled out new ways for marketers to understand the in-store impact of their ads.

Marketing services provider Responsys Inc. today announced the hire of Michael Della Penna as the company’s first senior vice president of emerging channels. He reports to Responsys chairman and CEO Dan Springer.
Responsys, which provides e-mail and other marketing services, says it made the move to support the company’s growth. "Michael is a seasoned marketing executive with a long, proven track record in our industry and strongly qualified for this newly created position,” Springer says.
In his new role leading strategy for emerging channels, Della Penna says he will focus on innovating around social and mobile marketing. He comes to Responsys with 25 years of marketing experience, including, most recently, at two companies that he founded to provide social marketing services: SuiteDialog and Conversa Marketing. The latter company was acquired by StrongMail Systems in 2010. He has also held senior marketing and strategy positions at Epsilon, Bigfoot Interactive, CNET Networks and ZDNet.
The company today also announced its hire of Joan Burke as vice president of human resources. Burke has more than 25 years of human resources experience. She previously worked at realty firm ZipRealty as vice president of human resources, where she was also in charge of recruitment. She has held executive human resources positions at a number of other companies.
