Tom McElroy now manages Genco’s online stores for selling excess merchandise.
Online liquidation services provider Genco ATC has hired Tom McElroy as vice president of e-commerce. McElroy will lead the company’s business-to-business and consumer liquidation web sites GencoMarketplace.com and NoBetterDeal.com. Genco Marketplace, a subsidiary of Genco ATC, resells returned merchandise and surplus inventory.
McElroy comes to Genco after 14 years at Dell Inc., No. 4 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide, where most recently he was director of marketing for Dell Outlet, which sells Dell products into secondary markets, Genco says.
At Genco Marketplace, McElroy will expand the online e-retail properties, the company says. Bob Auray, president of Genco Marketplace, says the company wants to become the leading online channel for secondary market product sales. Auray says Genco’s discount channels are flourishing as consumers seek to stretch their dollars. “Tom will help Genco Marketplace exploit this significant market opportunity,” he says.
