Joel Sodano will help expand product selections for Glasses.com.
1-800 Contacts Inc. has hired Joel Sodano for a new position as vice president of merchandising at Glasses.com, the eyewear e-commerce site it launched in June, the e-retailer says.
Sodano spent 18 years at Luxottica Retail, the parent company of sunglass manufacturer Oakley Inc., No. 258 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of product development, planning and selection.
At Glasses.com, Sodano’s responsibilities will include expanding eyewear and sunglass assortments, says John Graham, general manager of Glasses.com.
"Joel will be a tremendous asset to our team,” he adds. “His knowledge of the eyeglass and sunglass industry is based upon 20 plus years of optical merchandising experience. Joel will be instrumental in taking Glasses.com from its launch phase to the world's most sophisticated online destination for eyewear.”
