Kenco to Manage Additional Warehouse for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters

Since May 2007, Kenco has been managing direct-to-consumer U.S. distribution at two GMCR distribution centers.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.—August 16, 2011 (James Street Media Services)—Kenco, a leading provider of integrated logistics solutions, real estate services, and material handling equipment, is pleased to announce a significant expansion of warehouse space managed for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (GMCR) at a new location in Robbinsville, N.J.

Since May 2007, Kenco has been managing direct-to-consumer U.S. distribution at two GMCR distribution centers (DCs): one in Chattanooga, Tenn. and the other in Chino, Calif. In July, Kenco opened a third DC for GMCR in Robbinsville, N.J., expanding its current GMCR-related footprint to over one million square feet.

“We were looking for an integrated logistics solution that could be deployed in a timely way,” says Jennifer Burkhardt, Transportation Manager, GMCR Specialty Coffee business unit. “Kenco has a proven track record for running our distribution centers smoothly and could meet our timeline.”

Kenco provides GMCR with the following services: inbound receiving and inspection; inventory storage services; pick/pack/ship of multichannel orders via parcel, truckload and less-than-truckload transportation; transportation services; product expiration date management; kitting services; custom demo and promotional assembly; and back office updates.

“We are honored to be a part of GMCR’s continued growth,” says David Caines, President of Kenco Logistic Services. “Our goal is to deliver satisfaction to the end users of this highly-valued customer through our integrated logistics solutions.”
