The acquisition will add more than 300 products to L’Oreal’s lineup.
Tom Delavan joins Gilt Home as it prepares to launch new product offerings this year.
Gilt Groupe Inc. has hired Tom Delavan as editorial director of Gilt Home, the home furnishings arm of the members-only luxury e-retailer. He reports to Jason Goldberger, general manager of Gilt Home, which launched in May 2010.
Delavan is an interior designer who worked as editor at large for Domino, an interior design magazine that folded in 2009.
He also worked as vice president of art advisory at Deutsche Bank and specialist in contemporary art at Sotheby’s. "Tom is a true renaissance man,” Goldberger says. “He has such a unique background with an incredible sense of style and we know that he will be a tremendous asset to our team."
Delavan will oversee the editorial voice of Gilt Home, which features articles about its products and interviews with designers. He joins Gilt Home as it prepares to launch new product offerings later this year, including full-priced merchandise alongside the discounted products already offered in limited-time sales.
The hiring is the second time this year that Gilt has added a notable name from the magazine world. Earlier this year the company hired former Gourmet editor Ruth Reichl as editorial director of GiltTaste.com.
Gilt is No. 49 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
