Washington, April 19, 2011 - The Retail Advertising and Marketing Association, a division of the National Retail Federation, announced today its Board of Directors has selected Rob Gruen, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Business Development at Array Marketing, to serve as Second Vice Chairman. Gruen succeeds Zain Raj, President and COO of SolutionSet, and will serve a two-year term.
In his current role at Array Marketing, Gruen oversees the delivery of innovations in retail merchandising, creative branding concepts, in-store environments, point-of-purchase displays and fixtures to major retailers and companies worldwide. From 2007 to 2009, he was the Executive Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing at Borders, where he was responsible for the company's overall multichannel marketing and merchandising strategic direction which included all aspects of stores and e-commerce business.
Prior to Borders, Rob served as Executive Vice President of Merchandising at the Home Shopping Network (HSN) and as President and CEO of Parisian, the specialty department store division of Saks, Inc. Gruen has also served as a senior executive at companies such as Meijer, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Roses Stores, and Foley's in his more than 30 years of retail experience.
Gruen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Drake University.
