Newegg.com and QVC.com had the best scores among large retailers for consistency testing in February.
Newegg.com had the best consistency score among large retailers tested on Internet Explorer in February, says Gomez, the web performance division of Compuware Corp. Last month, the retailer had the most consistent site loading time with a variation of 0.45 seconds across all test sessions. In Internet Explorer testing, Newegg was followed by Overstock.com (0.65 seconds), CDW.com (0.71), and OfficeDepot.com and Dell.com (tied at 0.76 seconds).
QVC.com had the best Firefox consistency score in February, Gomez reports, with an average variation of 0.50 seconds. OfficeMax.com (0.62 seconds), Williams-Sonoma.com (0.66), Apple.com (0.70), and Overstock.com (0.72) rounded out the top five.
The average Internet Explorer consistency score among the retailers measured last month was 1.32 seconds. The same group of retailers produced an average Firefox score of 1.49 seconds.
The consistency ratings take into account differences in the speed of web page delivery across multiple visits.
