Search engines and other e-retailers lose share as shoppers increasingly turn to Amazon for product searches, a Bloomreach survey finds.
QVC’s m-commerce site led large retailers in iPhone response time tests last month.
QVC’s mobile site, m.QVC.com, produced the fastest iPhone access time among large web retailers in January, says Gomez, the web performance division of Compuware Corp. Last month, m.QVC.com produced an average iPhone mobile response time of 1.80 seconds.
The next best iPhone response time was from m.Newegg.com with 2.47 seconds, followed by Williams-Sonoma.com (3.14 seconds), Dell.com (3.26) and Amazon.com (3.52).
QVC’s mobile commerce site also led in response time tests for the three other mobile devices measured by Gomez last month: Sprint’s HTC Hero (1.90 seconds), T-Mobile’s HTC Dream (3.83 seconds) and Verizon’s Droid (1.64 seconds). M.Newegg.com also finished second in January tests for the HTC Dream (7.10 seconds) and the Droid (3.19), while Dell.com had the second-fastest time (3.76 seconds) in HTC Hero testing.
Gomez measured response time as the end-to-end time elapsed while downloading each mobile site.
