Multichannel photography retailer B&H Photo-Video-Pro Audio has released its first Android app, enabling users to search all sections of the online store, make purchases, and download product guides and other information.
Shoppers can use the B&H Photo Android App to search and purchase from the retailer’s full inventory of 300,000 new and used photo, video, pro audio, computer, and home and portable entertainment equipment. The app is a free and is now available in the Android Market.
Using the B&H Android app, customers also can download and save PDF manuals and guides for nearly 3,000 items. They also have access to professional reviews, specifications, and features, and can watch demonstration videos prepared by B&H’s professional staff.
The app includes features enabling users to filter search results, share favorite and recommended items, and access wish lists and order history. It also offers high-resolution product images and a zoom feature for close-up viewing of products.
B&H, No. 139 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, launched a mobile application for the iPhone in October 2010. B&H used Endeca Technologies Inc. to help develop the apps and integrate back-end product information, enabling the web site and mobile apps to operate from the same database. Endeca also is the provider of search and navigation technology for BHPhotoVideo.com.
The iPhone app is available through Apple Inc.’s (No. 4) iTunes App Store.
