A sampling of e-retailer and vendor announcements from the NRF show floor this week.
The office supplies retailer’s site experienced problems on Thanksgiving night and this morning, AlertBot reports.
The e-commerce site of OfficeMax Inc. experienced difficulties Thanksgiving night and again this morning, reports web monitoring firm AlertBot Services.
OfficeMax.com started timing out about 9:10 p.m. Eastern time on Thanksgiving, meaning the site failed to load within 30 seconds, AlertBot says. “This was later combined with their site intermittently displaying a page stating their site was down due to routine maintenance which is very hard to believe that a retailer would have routine maintenance right before Black Friday,” says a spokesman for AlertBot, part of InfoGenius Inc.
OfficeMax.com came back online at 10 pm, AlertBot says, but then encountered the same time-out problem for about 10 minutes at 1:10 a.m. this morning.
OfficeMax did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Meijer Inc. also had a short problem this morning, according to AlertBot, although the food and general merchandise retailer disputed the account. According to AlertBot, Meijer.com failed to load within 30 seconds for about 20 minutes starting at 3:18 a.m. today.
However, a Meijer spokesman says, “We had no outages whatsoever today.”
