British online fashion retailer My-wardrobe.com has received $9 million in venture capital in an initial round of funding.
Venture capital firm Balderton Capital led the funding and Dharmash Mistry, a Balderton Capital partner, will join the retailer’s board of directors.
My-wardrobe.com, which launched in 2006, sells apparel from more than 180 brands, including Ralph Lauren, Burberry and Marc by Marc Jacobs. The retailer plans to use the funding to add additional brands, bolster its customer service and marketing channels, as well as to expand internationally.
“We have extremely ambitious expectations for My-wardrobe.com and this investment will allow us to improve our portfolio of designer brands and product categories, improving the overall customer experience,” says Sarah Curran, founder and CEO.
