The multimedia retailer will unveil an enhanced version of its iPhone app along with apps for Android and BlackBerry smartphones in the coming weeks. New features in QVC’s apps strategy include customer ratings and reviews and live HDTV.
TV retailer powerhouse QVC is broadening its mobile commerce apps portfolio with the addition of apps for Android and BlackBerry smartphones in the coming weeks. It also will be debuting an enhanced version of its iPhone app.
Based on customer feedback, QVC has added customer ratings and reviews to its iPhone app; they also will be included in the Android and BlackBerry apps, which will offer the same features and functions as the iPhone app and enable customers to complete purchases.
Another new app feature will allow shoppers to watch QVC’s television programs live in high-definition through their app.
“The QVC shopping experience has evolved over the years based on an open, continuous dialogue we’ve shared with our customers,” says Angie Simmons, executive vice president of multichannel platforms. “We’re thrilled to provide them with even more options to access our product offerings and to stay engaged with our shopping community—no matter where they are or what they are doing.”
QVC’s mobile arsenal also includes an m-commerce site, m.QVC.com, and a text messaging program that enables shoppers to complete a purchase via text.
