Online jewelry retailer Bidz.com has launched a new web site, Modnique.com, where only registered members are able to purchase apparel, accessories, shoes and housewares.
Online jewelry retailer Bidz.com Inc. has launched a new, members-only shopping site, Modnique.com. The company is offering designer apparel, accessories, shoes and housewares to registered members on the site during scheduled sales events.
“The Modnique platform is a logical evolution for our existing business given Bidz`s existing online infrastructure and the strong relationships we have with premium designer brands, as well as millions of monthly visitors to our web sites,” says David Zinberg, CEO of Bidz, No. 71 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide (a PDF version of the company’s financial and operating profile can be ordered by clicking on its name).
The company, which rolled out Modnique’s first event on February 8 offering men’s and women’s apparel by design label Ed Hardy, says Modnique.com will offer up to 85% off regular prices.
Planning and work on the new site took place in the second half of 2009. The members-only business model becomes the third type for Bidz which offers auction sales on its Bidz.com site and fixed-prices on Buyz.com.
