Mobile sites performed well over the holiday weekend

The average response time for 14 mobile commerce sites on the Friday after Thanksgiving through Sunday was 3.757 seconds and the average availability of those sites for the same period was 99.36%, according to Gomez.

The average response time for 14 mobile commerce sites on the Friday after Thanksgiving through Sunday was 3.757 seconds and the average availability of those sites for the same period was 99.36%, according to Gomez Inc.’s Mobile Web Benchmark. The firm measures web and mobile web performance and experience.

Leading the pack in response time were m.BestBuy.com at 2.161 seconds, m.QVC.com at 2.193 seconds, m.Newegg.com at 2.347 seconds, Mobile.Overstock.com at 2.676 seconds and Amazon.com at 3.017 seconds. Bringing up the rear were m.Target.com at 5.831 seconds and m.Walmart.com at 4.702 seconds.

Heading up availability, all with 100%, were Amazon.com, m.BestBuy.com, BN.com (Barnes & Noble), Mobile.Buy.com, Dell.com, m.Newegg.com, Nordstrom.mobi, Mobile.Overstock.com, m.QVC.com and m.Target.com. At the bottom of the availability list were m.Walmart.com at 95.85% and 1800Flowers.mobi at 96.93%.
