Stylish young women get an iPhone app to match

Bebe Stores has launched a mobile app that lets shoppers search, browse and buy the retailer’s apparel and accessories. It created the app because an increasing amount of traffic to its e-commerce site was from mobile devices.

Bebe Stores Inc. has launched an iPhone app that lets shoppers search, browse and buy the retailer’s women’s apparel and accessories.

The design of the app, available for free through Apple Inc.’s App Store, matches the stylish experience of its big sister e-commerce site. The retailer launched the app for the same reason many retailers new to m-commerce have launched their own-it studied traffic coming to its e-commerce site and saw that an increasing amount was from mobile devices.

Multichannel retailer Bebe Stores is promoting the new app on its e-commerce site, via e-mail marketing, through in-store salespeople and on its social networking pages.

Bebe Stores is No. 285 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide (A PDF version of Bebe’s financial and operating profile can be ordered by clicking on its name).
