Sears expands its online social presence with a home improvement community

Sears Holdings Corp., which has been blazing a trail with its online social community initiatives, has expanded its community presence with the launch of Manage My Home, an online resource for homeowners.

Sears Holdings Corp., which has been blazing a trail with its online social community initiatives, has expanded its online community presence with the launch of Manage My Home, an online resource for homeowners.

The Manage My Home site features:

  • Answers to home-related questions from 60 home care and product experts, as well as from other homeowners.
  • Projects that explain the tools, the detailed steps and the shopping list needed to do large and small jobs. It also provides links to the network of Sears Home Services professionals and maintenance and upkeep information.
  • Checklists of things homeowners need to do around the house and links to products, services and information needed to get it done
  • An extensive collection of product owner`s manuals. Sears reports that users have already downloaded more than 3 million owner`s manuals from Manage My Home. Users can ask the Manage My Home staff to find users’ manuals it doesn’t have.
The Manage My Home web site is also using Twitter to send project information to subscribers. Sears is No. 7 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
