Gomez Inc. notes that customers with a high broadband connection could visit an apparel retailer’s site in about 5.84 seconds, compared to specialty/other retailers (6.0 seconds), mass merchants (6.01 seconds), and computers and electronics retailers (6.82 seconds).
When a site is accessed by a low broadband connection, apparel and accessories retailers provided the fastest average access at 13.14 seconds, Gomez says. The next fastest web retailing category was specialty/other retailers (13.40 seconds), followed by mass merchants (13.97 seconds), and computers and electronics (15.94 seconds).
