Raul Vazquez becomes president & CEO of Walmart.com

Raul Vazquez has been named president & CEO of Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s Walmart.com, replacing Carter Cast, who has been tapped to lead the parent company’s U.S. business strategy and strategic planning initiatives.

Raul Vazquez has been named president & CEO of Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s Walmart.com, replacing Carter Cast, who has been tapped to lead the parent company’s U.S. business strategy and strategic planning initiatives.

Vazquez had been chief marketing officer for Walmart.com. He will have oversight of all day-to-day operations at Walmart.com and will focus on further integration of online and in-store capabilities that provide multi-channel options for customers, the company says. He also will expand the site`s overall merchandise assortment and product information.

Vazquez joined Walmart.com in 2002. He oversaw the launch of the site`s major redesign initiative last year, and managed all marketing and creative functions for the online business.

Cast, who joined Walmart.com in 2000, became president two years ago. He and Vazquez will both report to Eduardo Castro-Wright, president and CEO of Wal-Mart Stores` U.S. division.

Walmart.com executive Brian Osborn, will speak at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, June 4-7 in San Jose, in a session entitled Wal-Mart: The Giant Uses the Web to Extend its Market Reach.
