Apparel retailers deliver the best performance

Apparel and accessories retailers gave web shoppers the most consistent low broadband performance in September. Gomez Inc. notes that customers with a low broadband connection could visit an apparel retailer’s site in about 14.42 seconds.

Apparel and accessories retailers gave web shoppers the most consistent low broadband performance in September.

Gomez Inc. notes that customers with a low broadband connection could visit an apparel retailer’s site in about 14.42 seconds, compared to specialty retailers (14.45 seconds), mass merchants (17 seconds) and computers and electronic retailers (16.58 seconds).

When their site is accessed by a high broadband connection, specialty retailers also provided the fastest average access at 5.53 seconds, Gomez says. The next fastest web retailing category was specialty (5.76 seconds), followed by mass merchants (6.48 seconds) and computers and electronics (6.66 seconds).
