Borders kicks off online video-based book review program

Borders Group launched this week an online book club video program at Bordersmedia.com. The program presents group discussions with authors, and viewers can click a nearby link to purchase the featured book.

 

Online video continues to play a bigger role with online retailers, with the debut this week of the online Borders Book Club video program at Bordersmedia.com. The program presents group discussions with authors, and viewers can click a nearby link to purchase the featured book.

The video program kicked off with a group discussion with Rich Albom, author of “For One More Day.” Viewers who choose to purchase the book can click a link that takes them to the Borders e-commerce hosted by Amazon.com.

"Our customers turn to Borders everyday for information and entertainment, in the form of author readings, performances, and as a community gathering place," says Michael Tam, chief marketing officer and senior vice president for Borders Group Inc. "Our move into original, online entertainment is a natural and strategic progression for us, one that will have a very strong appeal to anyone who lives and appreciates the booklover`s lifestyle."
