CEO Sharon Price John says Build-A-Bear’s old e-commerce system is a big reason for disappointing online sales in December.
Adam Silverman, former online marketing manager at BabyStyle.com, has joined apparel retailer The Wet Seal Inc. as senior manager of e-commerce.
Adam Silverman, former online marketing manager at BabyStyle.com, has joined women’s apparel retailer The Wet Seal Inc. as senior manager of e-commerce. He succeeds Elton Graham, who is now with Shopzilla.com.
Silverman, who spent two years at BabyStyle and has worked on e-commerce platforms for large corporations, joins The Wet Seal at a time when it is ready to build out both online marketing strategies and online shopping features for its two web sites, WetSeal.com and ArdenB.com, Silverman says.
The retailer posted sales last year of about $14 million, up 27% from about $11 million I 2004. That growth occurred largely without online marketing, but The Wet Seal is now planning to build on its recent growth through several forms of marketing, including search engines and affiliate networks, Silverman says. “We’re entering into aggressive online marketing campaigns,” he says.
Prior to BabyStyle, Silverman worked on e-commerce platforms for clients including Chevron and Wells Fargo at ISL Consulting in San Francisco.
