Blockbuster has hired Chris Terrill as vice president of product and marketing for Blockbuster Online. Terrill joins Blockbuster Online from Match.com, where he most recently was vice president of new brands and verticals.
Blockbuster Inc. has hired Chris Terrill as vice president of product and marketing for Blockbuster Online, the company’s online movie rental service. Terrill joins Blockbuster Online from Match.com, where he most recently was vice president of new brands and verticals. Terrill helped grow Match.com’s business, directed the re-launch of Match.com’s core web service and introduced several online sites under the Match umbrella.
“Our goal is to continue to grow our share of the online rental market. With Chris we have a strong marketer with extensive experience in the online world who should be able to do just that,” said Shane Evangelist, senior vice president and general manager for Blockbuster Online.
Terrill will be in charge of growing the Blockbuster Online subscriber base and creating a superior online customer experience. He is responsible for leading the development of the Blockbuster Online site, including new features, functionality, testing and design. In addition, he manages all Blockbuster Online acquisition channels, including online and offline media, partnerships, affiliates, search engine management and optimization, and integration with Blockbuster stores.
