In a move to spur its growth as a multi-channel TV and online retailer, HSN has named Kris Kulesza executive vice president of HSN.com, and Matthew Siegel and Jon Kapplow as vice presidents, respectively, of e-tail strategy and multi-channel marketing.
"Kris, Matt and Jon have all been key contributors to the ongoing development and expansion of HSN`s highly successful online business," said Marty Nealon, president of HSN – U.S. "Their proficient strategic skills, combined with a strong mix of merchandising experience and online marketing acumen, will further enhance our ability to serve our growing base of multichannel customers."
Kulesza will oversee all aspects of HSN.com, including online merchandising, technology and operations. She reports to Nealon.
Kulesza had served as HSN’s senior vice president of online merchandising since last May. She joined HSN in 1998 as vice president of merchandising and led HSN’s team of jewelry merchants as they expanded their product assortment on both HSN TV and HSN.com. Prior to HSN, Kulesza served as vice president of merchandising at People’s Jewelers and before People’s, president of the Lipton’s chain of women’s apparel stores.
As vice president of e-tail strategy, covering multi-channel project management, technology and e-commerce, Siegel will work with HSN’s several online businesses, including Cornerstone Brands, to evaluate new business opportunities that support HSN’s overall market strategy. He will continue to oversee HSN.com product, operations, content producer and analytic teams.
Siegel joined HSN in 2003 as vice president of product management. Prior to HSN, he served as director of product development for GameFly.com and director of product management for Ticketmaster.com.
As vice president of multi-channel marketing, Kapplow will oversee HSN.com’s multi-channel and marketing teams. He joined HSN as director of multi-channel marketing in 2004 and was responsible for a 72% increase in revenue generated through e-mail to customers, HSN said.
Prior to HSN, Kapplow served as director of Internet and corporate marketing for retailer Hanover Direct.
HSN is a division of IAC/InterActiveCorp, whose executive vice president and CEO of Retail Thomas McInerney will deliver the keynote address at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition June 5-7 in Chicago.
