TransWorld Entertainment Corp. is teaming up with mobile content services provider Juice Wireless Inc. to launch MobileFYE.com, a digital entertainment site.
The site will provide users of mobile phones and other handheld devices with instant access to digital games and ringtones. Content such as real tones, polyphonic tones, sound effects and voice ringers will range in price from $1.99 to $2.99 each. Games are priced at $3.99 per item. “We’re always looking for new and innovative opportunities to proactively deliver rich entertainment experience for our customers,” says Fred Fox, TransWorld executive vice president of marketing and merchandising.
TransWorld, which operates 800 FYE stores and ranks No. 323 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites,, views digital music and other download content as a key part of its e-commerce strategy. On the web at FYE.com, the chain offers online shoppers three programs to download music. One program charges customers about 99 cents to download a song and two others are subscription services that range from $8.99 to $14.99 per month.
Shoppers can also use commerce-enabled music stations in many FYE stores to purchase music downloads.
