Internet Retailer magazine today announced its Top 50 Best of the Web online retailing web sites. “We are pleased to recognize The Top 50 for 2006. They reflect the best of what retailers can do online,” says Kurt T. Peters, editor of Internet Retailer. “Retailers in our Top 50 aren’t necessarily the biggest, the most profitable or the best known-they are the sites that innovate to take online retailing to the next level.”
This year’s sites range in size from Amazon.com, which continues to execute a brilliant online strategy while growing rapidly, to such smaller sites as Musicnotes.com, which uses in-house developed software to create a truly unique and exciting way to shop for sheet music, and TheFruitCompany.com, a third-generation, family-owned orchard in Oregon that uses the web to create a national market for its high-quality fruits.
The Top 50 winners this year are:
Specialty/Apparel & Accessories
Mass Merchants/Department Stores
The Internet Retailer Top 50 Best of the Web are selected by Internet Retailer’s editors in consultation with our Editorial Board of Advisers and with industry consultants and researchers.
