Bluefly.com’s sales up 9% in second quarter

Net sales at Bluefly Inc. increased 9% to $7.47 million in the second quarter from $6.8 million in the same period a year ago, the company has reported.

The company also reported that new customer acquisition cost decreased to $15.16 from $16.92. And while it acquired 22,581 new customers in the quarter vs. 21,057 in Q2 last year, its repeat business slipped to 68% of revenue from 70%. Average order size increased to $176.70 from $161.65.

Bluefly also reported that gross margin decreased to 31% from 35.4% and that net loss increased to $2.12 million from $1.52 million a year ago.
