FreeShop.com Inc., a provider of online direct marketing services, has forged an agreement with XOOM.com Inc. to create FreeShop @ XOOM, a cobranded website featuring free, trial and promotional offers for XOOM's more than 10.4 million members and visitors.
FreeShop@XOOM.com uses what the Seattle-based firm calls the "Powered by FreeShop" concept, which offers websites detailed content, increased repeat traffic and stickiness. XOOM will share in a percentage of the revenue generated from the products and services offered on the host site. The site provides XOOM's members and visitors with no-charge access to FreeShop offers, through links found on XOOM's home page and site categories. The cobranded site includes 17 interest categories with "thousands" of free items. Categories include Computers & Electronics, Health & Sports and Home & Living, among others.
