The mobile apps consumers flock to by the millions are a mixed bag of social networks, video, messaging, navigation, music, weather and shopping.
Web and mobile measurement firm comScore Inc. has revealed the top 25 most popular mobile apps, ranked by unique visitors in June 2014. 20% of the top mobile apps belong to retailers, including Google Play, Pandora, Netflix, Amazon.com Inc. and eBay Inc. Google Play, Amazon.com and eBay combined will generate $55.2 billion in mobile commerce sales in 2014, much of it through their apps, according to the newly published 2015 Internet Retailer Mobile 500.
