The vendor plans to announce its SARA X accelerator application for small and mid-sized B2B as well as retail omnichannel e-commerce at next month’s IRCE conference and exhibition in Chicago.

Oracle Corp.’s Oracle Commerce e-commerce platform is mainly used by larger e-commerce companies. But a new software deployment tool from Speed Commerce is intended to make the Oracle platform accessible to companies as small as $5 million in annual revenue that sell online to consumers or other businesses.
“We saw a void in the market for mid-market e-commerce sites having the ability to buy and run on Oracle Commerce,” says Jeff Zisk, president of Speed Commerce.
SARA X, or Speed ATG Reference Application, Speed Commerce’s new software accelerator tool for deploying Oracle Commerce, is designed to deploy the Oracle e-commerce software suite—including the ATG e-commerce platform, Endeca site search and navigation technology, and WebCenter content management system—within 90 days, with the software managed and hosted by Speed Commerce, Zisk says. Deployment costs will range from $200,000 to $400,000, depending on a site’s complexity; ongoing monthly costs will range from $15,000 to $30,000, Zisk says. While Speed Commerce provides site hosting and management, its SARA X clients own their web sites and a perpetual license to the Oracle Commerce software.

The company is no stranger to working with Oracle Commerce, as Speed Commerce has been deploying Oracle e-commerce software for large consumer brand manufacturers and retailers for the past four years, Zisk says. Speed Commerce also provides software and services for online order management and fulfillment. Its clients include The Dow Chemical Co., the MetroPCS unit of mobile phone products and services company T-Mobile USA Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and J.C. Penney Co. Inc.
Oracle’s e-commerce software is used by 65 retailers in the Internet Retailer Top 500 and five in the Internet Retailer Second 500. The Top 500 and Second 500 rank the overall top 1000 e-commerce companies by their annual retail web sales.
Wal-Mart is No. 4 and J.C. Penney is No. in the 2014 Top 500 Guide.
