Panasonic Corporation of North America announced last week the appointment of e-commerce and digital marketing veteran Julie Bauer as president of its consumer sales division, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.
Bauer was a senior director at BestBuy.com, the e-commerce arm of Best Buy Co. Inc., No. 10 in the 2013 Internet Retailer Top 500, from 2002 to 2007, with responsibilities in such areas as site development and connecting the web, stores and call centers.
After leaving Best Buy, she worked for two years as vice president of multichannel commerce at the American Girl unit of Mattel Inc., then for the last two years was senior vice president of digital, marketing and global e-commerce at Guthy-Renker, a direct marketer of cosmetics and hair care products. Earlier in her career, she worked in a business-to-business setting as vice president of digital and online marketing services at Cullinan Corp., which went out of business in 2002.
