Office supply needs might seem pretty similar no matter the business. Not so, says Quill. And so, when an office manager registers on Quill.com she is asked her industry and the number of employees in the office. This helps Quill make relevant recommendations, says Michael Patriarca, president of Quill. For instance,if a doctor’s office buys an HP LaserJet printer and has seven employeesQuill can calculate about when the office will need ink. A My Ink and Toner finder lets office managers register printers with Quill. Then, when an employee needs ink, all the manager has to do is click “Dr. Smith’s Printer” to find the right kind. Quill also runs ads for about 40 brands. This generates revenue and helps shoppers find new products, the retailer says.
