Gemvara.com hires a marketing strategist to expand its online exposure

The jewelry e-retailer wants to boost its national presence.

Gemvara Inc. has appointed Corinne Grousbeck as an advisor to CEO Matt Lauzon. Grousbeck, a former marketing executive with ad agency Saatchi and Saatchi, was hired to help the jewelry e-retailer raise its national profile.

Grousbeck has worked as a consultant to nonprofit organizations in the Northeast for the last 20 years, including the Perkins School for the Blind and the Isabella Steward Gardener Museum. Advising Gemvara is her first consulting position with a privately held company, the online jewelry retailer says.

“In similar fashion to what she’s done for the nonprofit industry, I feel confident that Corinne is going to increase our brand exposure and get us to a place where we are delivering high-quality jewelry and a personalized experience to the widest audience possible,” Lauzon says.

In addition to her marketing talents, Grousbeck is known in some circles for her fashion sense, which may come in handy marketing the e-retailer of customized jewelry. Married to Wycliffe Grousbeck, CEO of the Boston Celtics basketball team, she’s often seen courtside wearing distinctive jewelry items.
