Overstock and Dell lead June response time testing

Overstock and Dell led the way in Internet Explorer and Firefox testing, says Compuware Gomez.

Overstock.com and Dell.com produced the best high broadband access times among 15 large web retailers tested in June, according to Compuware Gomez. Last month, Overstock.com posted the fastest Internet Explorer response time with an average load time of 0.93 seconds. Dell.com topped last month’s Firefox testing with an average of 0.64 seconds.

Williams-Sonoma.com finished second in Internet Explorer tests at 0.97 seconds, followed by Dell.com (1.03), CDW.com (1.20), and Target.com and JCPenney.com (tied at 1.52).

Overstock.com finished second in last month’s Firefox response time tests with an average of 0.79 seconds. Williams-Sonoma.com (1.09) came in third and was followed by CDW.com (1.17) and OfficeDepot.com (1.29).

In June, the average large retailer’s high broadband response time for a shopper using Internet Explorer was 1.65 seconds, the Gomez study shows. The average Firefox response time among the same group of retailers last month was 1.75 seconds.
