The online textbook rental company also hires a chief marketing officer.
Online textbook rental company Chegg Inc. has hired two executives, including a former Netflix Inc. chief operating officer.
Tom Dillon takes over as Chegg’s senior vice president of distribution. He worked at Netflix, No. 14 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, between 1999 and 2006. At Chegg, Dillon will help the e-commerce book company streamline product distribution.
Chegg also has hired Esther Lem as chief marketing officer. Lem will manage online and offline marketing programs. She comes from Unilever, where she worked on brand development for the global hair and deodorant category in North America.
"At this critical time in Chegg's growth, it was important to bring on executives that will help us expand our vision of making Chegg the go-to online resource for college students," says Dan Rosensweig, president and CEO of Chegg. "Tom's the best in the business when it comes to providing a great customer experience on a large scale.
