Consumer-direct retailer Musician`s Friend is adding information technology and e-commerce expertise with the addition of two I.T. executives and a senior manager of customer acquisition.

Consumer-direct retailer of musical instruments and gear Musician`s Friend Inc. is beefing up its information technology and e-commerce expertise with the addition of Charles Hunsinger as executive vice president of I.T., Jeff Roberson as vice president of I.T., and Mark Deruyter as senior manager of customer acquisition.
Hunsinger has more than 20 years of experience in large-scale systems consulting and corporate I.T. leadership. He will oversee deployment of Musician’s Friends’ new technology platforms for e-commerce, community, content, product management and other applications, as well as drive the company`s I.T. infrastructure and organization. Previously Hunsinger was chief information officer of Corporate Express US, a part of the global Corporate Express office products business.
Roberson has over 19 years of information systems experience, including involvement in major technology implementations and support teams management. Previously he was vice president of I.T. for The Woodwind & Brasswind, a division of Musician`s Friend, where he managed I.T. operations and was a member of the executive management team. Prior to The Woodwind & Brasswind, Roberson was chief information officer at FurnitureFind.com.
Deruyter is building a team to manage all advertising channels for Musician’s Friend. He previously was with Microsoft Corp.’s online shopping mall MSN Shopping as program manager lead where he was the main contact for merchant communications and sales support. He also managed a client services team supporting more than 400 merchants, served as a sales liaison for the Microsoft Advertising organization and managed the revenue programs on MSN Shopping.
Before joining Microsoft in March 2006, Deruyter was senior online manager at Onlineshoes.com, where he managed the retailer’s affiliate and e-mail programs, direct response advertising programs and other media buying for the company.
