Digital Music Innovator Implements Facebook Connect to Augment Social Efforts
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - February 24, 2009) - eMusic, the internet`s corner music store, today announced an integration with Facebook using the social network`s Facebook Connect feature. With more than 175 million active users, Facebook is the fourth-most trafficked website in the United States.
When eMusic subscribers login using Facebook Connect, they are able to publish their eMusic activities back on Facebook, which enables them to share more about their favorite music downloads with their friends than ever before. For example, eMusic subscribers can post album ratings, personal reviews, album and artist links to their Facebook Profile, which will then appear on their friends` News Feeds. This can be done with the simple click of a button from various album and artist pages on eMusic.
"Back in the day of the corner music store, word-of-mouth was one of the best ways to find out about new music," said Deirdre Stone, eMusic SVP of Product Development. "Facebook is the modern day equivalent and we want to empower the eMusic community to engage in this way. eMusic has always offered a richer experience than mass market digital music retailers, and integrating Facebook Connect will make it an even better place for fans to share information about their favorite music."
Daily Download Widget
eMusic also announced the debut of the eMusic Free Daily Download Widget, which is now available for installation on Facebook, blogs and other websites. The Daily Download Widget delivers a free music download every day, 365 days a year, in the MP3 format. Daily Download selections span every musical genre available on eMusic.
