Consumers Continue to Adopt NearbyNow’s ‘Online Browsing-In Store Buying’

Los Altos, Calif. – June 27, 2007– NearbyNow, Inc. today announced the company’s popular search service designed for shopping centers and retailers has reached an important corporate milestone with the launch of the service in its fiftieth shopping center – Westfield Annapolis in Annapolis, MD. NearbyNow’s proprietary service allows consumers to find any product, brand or sale currently available at their local shopping mall using the Internet or mobile phones. In the last three months, the company has more than doubled the number of shopping centers live with the service and is on track to have a presence in over 100 US cities by the 2007 holiday season. By making malls searchable from home (using the Internet) and while shopping (using mobile phones), the service will reach over 60% of U.S.-based shoppers by November, 2007.

“We have been very pleased with both the consumer and retailer reception of our service,” said Scott Dunlap, NearbyNow CEO, “Making it easy for shoppers to find nearby products and sales works for everyone. We will continue our rapid expansion, and look forward to adding more premier malls across the country.”

Consumers are fully exploiting multimedia channels such as the Internet and mobile phones to research purchases before buying in-store. NearbyNow is the first company to effectively deliver both a Web-based and mobile service for shopping centers and retailers to make the local mall searchable, targeting ‘high intent to buy’ shoppers. To date, shoppers across the county have been able to go online and search over 800,000 products from specific retailers or brands in their local mall before heading out the door to shop. Shoppers have also benefited from NearbyNow’s “reserve this product,” ensuring that selected items are available and waiting at the store.

Retailers and brands alike have found NearbyNow’s service provides a valuable advertising venue for reaching those “high intent to buy” shoppers, and to drive in-store sales. The ability to immediately target consumers in the 48 hours prior to purchase and drive consumers directly into stores is a powerful innovation beyond traditional print, TV, and search advertising. According to “The Web’s Impact On In-Store Sales: US Cross-Channel Sales Forecast, 2006 To 2012”, Forrester Research, Inc., May 8, 2007 the Internet will influence more than $1.1 trillion in in-store sales by 2012.
